Cinnamon Banana Pancakes

I know what you're thinking, "another banana recipe?". Well, when you shop at Sam's for produce, there are always bananas going ripe, so I have to get creative and figure out what to use them for all the time. Plus Logan LOVES bananas!!!! So I decided to make some banana pancakes for breakfast. It was super simple and took no time to whip up!

What you will need?
- butter for the frying pan
-bananas
- box of complete pancake mix/water
-cinnamon

Step 1- Cut up banana (I used just 1 banana because it was just Logan and myself sharing a jumbo pancake)
Step 2- Mash the banana
Step 3- Add the pancake batter (use the amount suggested on the back of the box for servings)
Step 4- Stir evenly
Step 5- Add the cinnamon (I  love cinnamon so I added a ton as you can see but you can add to less to your liking)
Step 6- Stir evenly.

Now just pour batter onto heated/buttered frying pan and cook until both sides are browned.
All done and cooling off for Logan
He seemed to like it
My little banana lover! ;)

Fun in the Sun!

Today was a fun day for Logan and I! He received a special early birthday present....his first bike! Daddy put it together last night, so as soon as we all woke up, we decided to take it for a spin outside before it got too hot out! He was so confused at first as what it was because I can push it like a stroller. After we took a little stroll around our block, he seemed to really enjoy it!

Once we got back hone, Logan took a nice nap then got up with enough energy to go to the playground to play with a few of his friends from our mommy group. We didn't last too long because it was scorching hot outside and Logan's little cheeks were getting red (even with a covered canopy). However, we sure had a blast for our little adventure out! I can't wait until it gets cooler out (high 70's degrees would be perfect!).

Here are some pics of Logan 's first bike ride! :)

We would like to send a very special thank you to the Mitchel family for Logan's new bike! =)

Sunkissed Vox Box Reviews

I received my second vox box from Influenster last month and was so excited to start testing out the products they sent me! I received 4 items to try- Olay Fresh Effects Tinting Moisturizer, Sinful Shine with Gel Tech nail polish in color Blue Suede Shoes, Goody Ouchless Ribbon Elastics, and Dr. Sholl's for Her High Heels. Here are my 4 personal reviews on these products.

1. Olay Fresh Effects- This product is not a foundation but is a tinted moisturizer with spf 15 built into it. I believe this was made for outings outside, like short trips to the beach or the park- where you don't want to have make up on but want to look "more put together". I have to say it works AWESOME! If you personally know me, you know I HATE face make up and can barely stand wearing powder, let alone any kind of liquid foundation. Well this stuff literally rubs in like moisturizer, where you don't have to worry about blending in perfectly. I just made sure to dab a little on each of the 5 sections of my face (forehead, right/left cheek, nose, and chin) and rubbed it in like I would have with moisturizer and voila- it made me look like I had perfect skin! I was going out for my best friend's bachelorette weekend, so I also added a little blush and eye make up to make myself look right for the gathering. Overall, I am very impressed with this product and will definitely be buying it in the future. It is also great for us stay at home moms, who don't have much time to "get ourselves together in the morning".

Here were my results:

2. Sinful Shine Nail Polish- I received this nail polish in the color "Blue Suede Shoes". I honestly never wear blue nail polish, so I was a little skepticle to give it a try. I usually stick to more pinks and red shades on my nails. However, I actually was very impressed with the shade of blue! It appeared to be a more greyish blue, once painted and dried on my nails. It also has gel-tech, so it went on nice and smoothly but dried thick, as if I painted a few coats on my nails. I was also very happy with my results with this nail polish. They lasted for about 5 days before they started to chip. That's not too bad considering I do dishes/baby bottles to what feels like every 2 minutes in my house lol.  I just found out that they sell this brand at my local Walgreens, so I am super excited to see what other shades they have!
                                                                                  Here were my results:

3. Goody Ouchless Ribbon Elastics- I received these in 5 colors as shown below- Purple, silver, charcoal, black, and pink. My first impression was that they were a super cute idea, especially for a beach day! I opened them up and noticed they didn't come with any instructions on how to use or style your hair with them. Obviously, with normal scrunchies you don't need instructions but these are designed like a stretching ribbon that has a little knot on the end. I assumed there had to be some sort of maneuvering to get it to work like the little picture on the tag showed. I tried styling my hair with them for about 10 minutes. My overall experience- I was sort of confused on how to wear these in my hair. I have long and thick hair, so the only style that I manage to have look some what presentably on me was a side pony (kind of like the picture on the label). However, I just tied it twice like a scrunchie, so it didn't look as nice. I kind of feel these would work better for shorter thin hair.

4. Dr Scholl's for Her High Heels- I actually got these at the perfect time! A night out on the town with tons of dancing with my friends for one of my best friend's bachelorette parties. I figured I could wear my super high heels and not have any pain. They were super easy to apply, just peel the sticker off and stick them onto your inner heels. They are labels left and right, to ensure you don't fool proof yourself and stick them on the wrong shoe. I put them on and it didn't feel too different. I walked normally in them as if I didn't have anything inside. They worked pretty well but only until we got to the lounge where we were dancing. We had dinner prior, so they do work good for basic nights out with dining. I think when you are dancing in heels for a long time, it is almost impossible not to feel any discomfort. Overall, this works good for short outings out in heels.

****I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes and did not receive any compensation for my review. =)

Healthy Homemade Banana Ice Cream!

So I've been hearing how you can make homemade banana ice cream from just cut up frozen bananas. Well I had some extra bananas that were getting too ripe, so I figured I would give it a try. It was so easy! I just cut up 2 bananas and added them into a small Tupperware container and popped it into the freezer to let freeze for a day. Then I took it out and added them into the blender and started to blend. I noticed it was very dry and didn't blend too well, so I decided to add a drop of milk to make it easier to blend. You will still have to keep stopping the blender and use a spoon to churn the bananas around to assure it is all getting evenly blended. After about 5-10 minutes of doing this, it actually should look just like ice cream. Oh and it taste just like it too but is completely guilt free! How awesome is that?!?! This is a perfect healthy treat for your toddler and they will think they are eating ice cream. Little will they know, there is no added sugar and it is just pure bananas (with a drop of milk). Logan ate his entire serving! It was so easy and fun to make! I can't wait to make it again! :)

****Make sure to eat right away or store in the freezer to keep cold to prevent melting just like regular ice cream. It can get messy fast! ;)

Logan approved! ;)

11 Months Old!

Here we are, just 1 month away from the big ONE!!!!! I am shocked at how fast time has gone and I am loving the little boy Logan is becoming! We didn't get weighed this month but I want to say his is around 23 pounds and is getting super tall!!!! He now wears 12 months and size 18 months in some clothes!!! His brain is like a sponge these days and he is picking up so much, so quickly! He now says Sit, Diesel (our dog’s name but it sounds more like "De-sa") and doggy ("Daw-E")….he is obsessed with him! We also got him this little robot dog that Diesel thinks is real and Logan loves tormenting Diesel with it! Dan recorded a video of it, I will try and upload it one of these days.  He also knows where your nose and mouth are if you ask him, he will point to it. Oh and he figured out how to turn on/off light switches, Ipad and Dan’s phone. Not sure if that’s a good thing lol.

I know I have said this in the last 2 monthly post that walking will be happening anytime now. He has been standing on his own a lot unassisted for about 10 seconds at a time but then, when he realizes he isn't holding on to anything, he squats down. I think it has to do with him having a bad fall about a month and a half ago from standing alone and falling forward on his face, so I am thinking he is scared now. We are in no rush, he still has us on the go with crawling and getting into everything! =)

Can you tell he was done with taking pictures?

"Enough mom! I want to go play now."

As for party planning, I feel pretty good on all that I have accomplished! Décor is all made, food is bought, outfit is bought and ready, favors are made, invites are sent, and now it’s just the little things left to be done for his day. I am excited for Logan to enjoy his party with all his little buddies!
Here are a few pics that I took for his invitations. =)

Oh and at this age, toys are piling up everywhere and his toy shelf upstairs can't hold anymore! So we bought this cheap bucket at Target for like $6 to put all his toys in downstairs and Logan loves it! He likes to get in there and look what is inside lol.

"Oh a book"

"I love books"!!!

Oh and the faces he makes these days!

He is such a little ham!!! Gotta love him!!!!
