8 Weeks!

What a great few weeks it’s been!
What has happened you ask?
Logan and I started “Mommy and Me” classes and we are having a blast bonding! Logan is all smiles during the time and just LOVES looking at all the other babies!!! He is super alert and wants to be involved with everything. He baby talks the whole time, trying to communicate with me…so adorable! We go twice a week now and it’s GREAT getting out of the house, even if it’s just for a couple of hours! I can’t wait until he can actually start playing with the other babies! It will be sooooo cute! Logan also loves it when they sing “Everybody Know That I Love My Toes”. In fact, Dan and I started singing it to him during bath time. He gets sooo excited! He actually starts flashing his big smile and splashes the water while we sing!

All excited at circle time!

Coming home from Mommy and Me exhausted!

Logan is also growing perfectly! He now weighs 11 ½ pounds now!!!!! His size 1 diapers are getting too small! We will have to start size 2 diapers soon. He is also fitting in some 3-6 months clothes. He is growing like a weed these days!  Sleep is also getting soooo much better! He tends to go to sleep for the night around 10:30pm and wake to eat at 4am....then he sleeps until 7:30am. We also had a few nights where he slept from 11-7!!!! Dan and I were just thrilled that he slept through the night! We hope he starts doing it more frequently. I also bought him a sound soother to help with night time sleeping. He loves the ocean setting. =)

What has happen during these last few weeks?
*He weighs 11 ½ pounds

*He is talking up a storm

*He started sleeping 5-6 hours a time during the night
*He is flashing smiles socially all the time now.
*He loves to stand up with support under his arms.

As for me 8 weeks postpartum, I have lost another pound and have 11 more pounds to go. I’m feeling good these days! My belly is almost completely flat again and I can fit in most of my clothes again. I noticed that my hips are a little wider than before pregancy,  which is keeping me from getting into my low rise skinny jeans. I did have an 8 pound baby come through them, so I get that they had to widen apart a little lol. Although, I am noticing them shrink a little bit each week. They were 36 inches pre-baby and are now 37 inches. So not too much more to go! =)

6 Weeks!

 Logan has gone from this....

                                                                                to this....

 Wow….where has the time gone?!?!?

I can’t believe my little man is 6 weeks old already! He is growing sooooo fast! It’s amazing how much he learns each day. I love watching his little personality start to come out. He is becoming so alert and loves everybody! He is just the sweetest little man! I feel so privileged to get to stay home with him and watch him grow!

What has happen during these last few weeks?
* He started drinking 5-6 oz at a time.
*He is wearing 3 month clothing and size 1 diapers.
*Weighs 9lbs 8 oz (as of his 5th week checkup).
*He is in the 50th percentile for his height and weight, which the doctor said is perfect!
*He started cooing….soooo ADORABLE!
*He also started sleeping in his crib last night.
*As of sleeping, he is going to bed around 9 pm, wakes up around 2 am to eat and then goes back to sleep and then wakes up for the day around 7. Sometimes he will wake up around 5 am also, depending on how hungry he is that night.

What he loves?
*Watching the ceiling fan
*Kiss attacks from mommy
*Being in his baby carrier
*Car rides

I can’t wait to see what these next few weeks bring!

Our New Home!!!!

As promised, I am posting pictures of our new home. We are still in the process of decorating and getting things unpacked.

It really feels surreal to be homeowners (on top of becoming parents!!!!). We couldn't be happier!!!

Happy First Month!!!

Wow, 1 month old!!!!!!!! Where has the time gone!?!? I really can’t believe my little man is 1 month old already! This month has been great!!! Logan really is a good baby, he only cries when he is hungry or needs a nap. He is sooo sweet and I feel so lucky to be his mommy!

I’m not going to lie, it has been tough getting adjusted to parenthood….but it is so worth it! The lack of sleep isn’t any fun either....but it’s getting better. He seems to go to sleep around 9 pm (after his nightly bath and feeding), wake up around midnight to eat, then again around 4, and finally up for the day at 7:30. Although, last night he slept from 9 pm until 3:30 without waking up once!!! Then he ate and slept until 7:30. It must have been from all the company we had over for our Labor Day bbq. He was up almost the entire day playing with family and friends. He was soooo good too!

A little recap of what happened in our first month

*Lifting our head up for a LONG period of time (he is beyond strong!)

*Rolling over when on tummy in our activity gym

* Started to smile around 3.5 weeks  (real smiles, not from gas…those smiles have been happening since birth lol)

* We went from eating 1 oz to 4-5 oz at a time

*We love bath time (started real baths around 2.5 weeks)

* We love listening to sounds of the ocean and rain drops
* We love the swing
* We slept in our crib a few nights

* We started listening and looking at people around 3 weeks

* We started watching Baby Einstein around 4 weeks

* We had our first bbq at 4 weeks

Words can't describe how much I love this little man. I'm so excited to watch him grow and can't wait for the time that he can talk and call me mommy. I think I will melt instantly hearing him call me that.
As for me postpartum, it has been 4 weeks since giving birth and I have lost a total of 25 pounds, which  I know is great! Also, I didn't get any stretch marks..which I am stoked about! However, I still have 15 pounds more to lose to reach my prepregnancy weight.
I go for my 6 week dr's appt on Septemeber 12th to get the clear to start losing weight. I'm not going to say work out bc I never worked out (I admit I am lazy!) but I don't mind going for walks and eating healthier. I can fit in a few pieces of my old clothes but still have plenty of outfits that are just too small! I am determined to get back into my size 0 pants again!!!

Update!

Woah, it's been a while since I've posted on here! Dan and I have been so busy lately. Why so busy, you might ask? Well, Dan and I became homeowners ( I will try to do a post with pictures soon of our new house) and we became parents!!!

For those of you who I don't talk to often and follow my blog, we thought Logan was going to come early since my exams were showing my body was prepping for labor at just 36 weeks! So being that we didnt close on our home until 36 weeks, we jumped into a panic and tried to move in and get the nursery done ASAP! We got everything done by 38 weeks and just waited and waited. However, now I've learned that those internal exams don't mean anything (as to when you will go into labor atleast)  bc I ended up needing to be induced since we went past my due date and was 40+ weeks. Man did I feel huge at that time.

I was so hesitant about being induced since I heard horror stories from my friends and how they can turn into a C section. I spoke to my doctor once we went past the due date and he explained to me there was a greater risk if the baby stays inside me for too long ( placenta not performing well, baby getting too big and I wouldn't be able to deliver vaginally, and maconium in the sac). I was nervous but he said I was a great candidate for an induction and scored a 13 on the bishop scale which is great! My dr said all he would do is break my water and give me the lowest dose of pitocin to jump start my contractions. I was already dilated to 4 cm, 90 percent effaced, and baby was super low at +1 station as of my last dr's appt.....so I figured let's do the induction!

The morning of my induction.....

Dan and I were told to come into the hospital at 3 am.....little did we know that was just to fill out paper work and get into a room bc my dr didn't come to the hospital until 7 am. At 7 am my induction started.

The doctor came in and said i was already close to 5 cm on my own, broke my water and gave me an IV with pitocin like he said. By 9 am my contractions hit HARD! At that time, I was begging for an epidural. The anasteciologist came at 10 am and gave me the epidural. WOW, what a difference! The epidural was heavenly!!!! I was talking, laughing, and relaxing having contractions back to back under a minute apart at a time. By 10 :45 the dr. came in to check me and said I was fully dilated and ready to push but had to finish up doing some things. So I did some practice pushes with the nurse until he returned. The dr. came back by 11:15 and said we were good to go. I ended up needing an episiotomy (which I was so scared of getting) but I actually didn't feel it like people said.

By 12:03 little Logan Cole was born weighing a sopping 8lbs 3 ounces ( the dr's predicted 6 and a half to 7 pounds....glad I got induced bc he would have been huge if he stayed in there longer and would have needed a C section). The dr even let me pull him out. What an AMAZING experience!!! I was able to take him on top of me for a few minutes but he was quickly taken from me, since they wanted to check him bc there was a little bit of maconium in his sac. Three hours later ( boy was I losing my mind waiting for sooooo long to see him again) we were reunited in our nursery suite. I was on cloud 9!!!!!!!!! What a great feeling to hold your son for the first time. Nurses said he was super healthy and I could start breastfeeding ( ouch does that hurt when you first get started!).

We stayed at the hospital until Sunday afternoon and were so happy to return home! The past 2 weeks have been tough but I wouldn't trade this new life for anything. Motherhood is such a great thing! I love taking care of this little man and I love knowing that I'm giving him the best by breastfeeding. He is so worth all the pain. Pregnancy was really hard on me and labor wasn't easy but as cliche as it sounds.....I would do it all over again in a heart beat!!!

Stay tuned for the journey of being a mommy......

33 Weeks...8 Months Pregnant!!!!!!

How far along?: 33 Weeks….I can’t believe I am 8 months pregnant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How big is baby?: He weighs about 4.5 pounds and is nearly 19 inches long! Woah we are getting way bigger these days!

Weight gain: Up  a total of 22 lbs. as of this morning.

Stretch marks?: None, but I can’t see everywhere since my belly is getting so big. I hope I still  don’t have any.

Maternity clothes?: I am wearing a lot of dresses since it’s soooooo hot out! Having a summer baby in Florida is tough with this insane heat we’ve been having these days!!!

Sleep?: What sleep? I toss and turn all night long! I have to get up to use the bathroom multiple times, then I am uncomfortable from my big belly and my dog has a horrible habit of lying right in the middle of the bed, which doesn’t help at all!

Food cravings?: Cookie cake…I need to stop eating it or else I am going to be huge!!!!

Gender?: 100% little man

Movement?: All the time and very strong! Also, hiccups seem to happen about 3 times a day…..sooo adorable!

Labor signs?: None and hope it stays that way at least until mid July which is when I will be considered full term…woah!!!!!!!!!!!!

Belly button in or out?: Still in….I honestly thought it would have popped by now but it's still an inny these days. I wonder if it will ever pop put.

What I miss: My energy and speed. I feel like an old lady most of the time.

Milestone: Officially done with work! Also, we now have only 50 days or less until our little man gets here. We are just soooooo excited!!!!!!!!!!

31 Weeks

How far along?: 31 Weeks

How big is baby?: The size of a pineapple! About 4 pounds in weight and 16 inches long.

Weight gain: Up 20 lbs in total.

Stretch marks?: None that I can see. However, it’s hard to see under my belly these days! Hopefully, they stay away!

Maternity clothes?: Totally! Although, I am still being frugal and wearing regular dresses as tops with leggings.

Sleep?: Total insomnia! I seem to wake up around 5 every morning and can’t go back to sleep because I have so much on my mind!

Food cravings?: Pop tarts and pineapple. Yum!

Gender?:
Little man

Movement?: It’s so crazy how much this little guy moves. I JUST LOVE IT! He loves moving as close to my right side as possible. It’s funny when he does this because my belly looks lop sided.

Labor signs?: Just tightness from Braxton Hicks contractions.

Belly button in or out?: Still in but it I’m thinking it will pop in a few weeks.

What I miss: Being able to move around quickly and having more clothes to wear. I am very limited these days.

Milestone: Finally registered for baby stuff at Babies R Us and Baby Depot. =)
